MEDIA ADVISORY: The Museum of Florida History Kicks Off the 35th Annual Capital City Quilt Show

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –

The Museum of Florida History is kicking off the 35th Annual Capital City Quilt Show: Sentimental Journey tonight, Thursday, August 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with an opening reception at the Museum of Florida History. This year’s show features more than 50 hand-crafted and machine-made contemporary quilts. The gallery will be open for viewing and quilters will be on hand to answer questions about quilting and the items on display. The reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be on display from August 4 through September 24.

The Museum of Florida History is part of the Florida Department of State's Office of External Affairs and is located in the R. A. Gray Building at 500 South Bronough Street, Tallahassee, Florida. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Sunday and holidays, noon to 4:30 p.m.  Free parking is available in the garage next to the R. A. Gray Building.
