Elections Canvassing Commission

This commission canvasses the returns of:

  • Primary and general elections for all state offices.
  • Presidential elections.
  • U.S. Congressional elections.

Additionally the commission:         

  • Determines and declares who is elected.
  • Makes and signs certificates of election for state and national offices.
  • Was created in 1895.
  • Is handled by the office of the Secretary of State.

 The legal basis for the commission is Sections 20.10 and 102.111, Florida Statutes. 

For FY2021-22, the percentage of total costs for the State Library Services program financed with federal money is 66%; the federal dollar amount to be spent on the program is $1,656,577. This program does not receive any non-governmental funding.

imls180.for.panel.jpgMany of these resources and programs are funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Florida's LSTA program is administered by the Department of State's Division of Library and Information Services.
