Book pitch:
Expanding on characters introduced in her Auggie & Me stories, R.J. Palacio has Julian's grandmother share her story as a young Jewish girl in Nazi-occupied France and how the classmate she teased hid her and became her closest friend.

Describe the use of illustrations:
Very well done -- the style is suited well for graphic novels and have a strong use of color.

If I could change one thing, it would be:
The physical binding of the book is thinner than I'd like for library use. It tore pretty quickly on the shelf.

I would recommend this book to readers who:
All middle grade readers should read this book. It is beautiful, touching and the format is accessible.

Describe any program ideas for this book:
This could be a strong book club suggestion: it could pair well with a WWII non-fiction read like Diary of Anne Frank.
