Book Closing Reports

What is Book Closing?

Book closing is the deadline to register to vote. To be eligible to vote in an election, a person must be registered no later than 29 days before an election. The Division prepares the following statistical reports, as may be applicable, on the number of active registered voters recorded in the statewide voter registration who are eligible to vote in the election as of book closing.

  • By party
  • By race
  • By party and race
  • By precinct and party
  • By congressional district
  • By Senate district
  • By house district
  • By judicial circuit

Note: Statistical differences between state book closing reports and what a county reports or publishes online may occur depending on when and how a county generates and/or publishes registration data.
